What is MatchMaker FundRaising Software Online Donation Management?

MMFRS Online Donation Management provides your organization the ability to accept online donations or event registrations and allows your donors to give automatically with recurring options. All from a web-based secure system that looks exactly like your website.

This product integrates with MatchMaker FundRaising Software Enterprise and Online Editions, eliminating the need to manually enter donations into your database.

Why should I utilize this service instead of a different solution?

There are a number of solutions for accepting online donations on the market today. The main reason you should purchase this service from MatchMaker FundRaising Software is that our service integrates seamlessly with MatchMaker FundRaising Software. This means that donations and online event registrations flow effortlessly into your database saving you time and effort and enabling you to track and manage all your fundraising activities in one simple location.

What if I already have a merchant account?

First, determine if the merchant account is an eCommerce Merchant account. If you have been doing transactions online (not including Paypal or Network for Good), then you have the appropriate merchant account.

If you do have a current merchant account through Authorize.net, BluePay, FirstData or Chase Paymentech, we will likely be able to integrate our services into your setup. If not, you will have to setup an Authorize.net or BluePay gateway so we can integrate with your merchant. Alternatively, we can setup a new ecommerce merchant account.

If you do have an eCommerce Merchant account that needs to go through Authorize.net, we can compare the pricing between setting up that account and setting up a new eCommerce Merchant account through Qgiv.

How do I set it up?

Step 1: Logon to MatchMaker FundRaising Software.

Step 2: Under the Tools menu at the top of the screen, select Online Transactions Control Panel.

Step 3: Click the scroll and pen button at the top of the screen to create a new account. Fill out the form.

Step 4: A confirmation email will be sent to you from our partners at Qgiv. Click on the link that is provided to verify your new account.

Step 5: The link will give you access to the tools needed to manage your Online Donations service. You will have the opportunity to test online forms and how your donors will interact with the webpages. You will have 30 days to test the online tools.

Step 6: When you are ready for a live account, set up an internet-enabled merchant account to collect the online donations. Begin this process from the Welcome page.

Step 7: Fill out the application and agree to the terms of service at the bottom of the form to create your merchant application. If you run out of time or need additional information to complete the application, you can return to the webpage at any time, right where you left off.

Step 8: Once the completed application appears, you will be asked to electronically sign the application. Follow the prompts to sign and initial all required fields and then submit the application.

Step 9: You will receive an email and a copy of the application. Print the application to keep in your files.

Step 10: Upload required documents (you also can fax these items):

  • Voided check or bank letter
  • Recent bank statements
  • 501(c)(3): proof of tax-exempt status
  • Two recent years of 990s

Step 11: Qgiv will process the application and notify you on receipt. Qgiv will contact you if additional information is needed.

Step 12: While the merchant account is being approved, the Qgiv staff will skin your donation form to match your organization’s website.

Step 13: With the help of the Qgiv staff, configure your online donations page to capture the appropriate donor information.

Step 14: Connect your MatchMaker database to your online donation form, with the download ticket provided by MatchMaker FundRaising Software.

Step 15: Begin to collect online donations!

What if I have a different online donations solution? Can I still use MatchMaker FundRaising Software?

MatchMaker clients with other online donation providers can continue to use them as desired. They will need to enter or import donations received from this service into MatchMaker FundRaising Software.

How do you integrate with our current website?

Qgiv’s site engineers copy your site’s navigation, theme and wording and “wrap” it around our innovative donation forms. The resulting page contains a user-friendly donation form that looks and feels exactly like your website. We host your branded page on our secure servers so donors can complete transactions worry-free and in accordance with Level 1 PCI Security Standards.

Is my organization too small to use MatchMaker Online Donation Management?

Should my donors be concerned about using credit card numbers on the Internet?

MatchMaker FundRaising Software Online Donation Management has strong security features. The processor, Qgiv, is a Level 1 PCI Compliant Payment Gateway. This means the processor is scanned quarterly, and the facilities and data centers are audited annually by independent, on-site auditors from third-party security firms. Two hundred and twelve unique requirements are checked annually by an auditing firm (SecurityMetrics) to ensure the security of your donation data. In addition to compliance with the PCI DSS, your donation system is secured with SSL by VeriSign, and all transactions take place on the processors secure servers.

How are donations recorded in MatchMaker FundRaising Software?

When an online donation is made, a popup will appear when you log into MatchMaker asking if you would like to process the online transactions. By clicking yes, you will be taken to a summary dashboard of the online transactions. To complete the import, you must first review the constituents and their gifts and make any changes necessary for import. Once imported, you will be able to run reports and queries just like any other donation record.

What if an online donor is already in MatchMaker? When I import the donation into MatchMaker will it create a duplicate record?

Before you import online donation records into MatchMaker FundRaising Software, you have an opportunity to manually review them to prevent the creation of duplicate records. The import process will match the donor by their email address or phone number. If an existing constituent in MatchMaker does not have an existing email or phone number, the software will notify you of possible duplicate names.

How quickly do we receive the money that is donated to our organization?

Because the online donations are connected to your own merchant account, money will be deposited directly into your bank account within 24 to 48 hours.

Is there a way to let donors target their donation to a specific fund or even to a person in the case of a tribute?

Yes. Within the online donation form, you can customize the field entitled “Please direct my donation to…”. Within this field you can feature an unlimited number of funds. A donor not only can choose a fund, but also split their gift between multiple funds in the same transaction. Tributes also are easy to configure, allowing donors to give a dedication message with their donation.

What if a donor wants to stop their recurring donation?

There are two ways to stop a recurring donation: 1) Donors can stop it themselves via a link in an email they receive when they make a recurring donation; 2) The nonprofit organization can stop it through the MMFRS Online Donation Management Control Panel.
