I love owning my own business. Almost everyday I feel like I make a difference – I help a nonprofit organization move forward in reaching their mission. That is very cool.
When I began the adventure of being a business owner, it was all about creating a software product that would help nonprofits raise more money with less hassle and backing the software up with the best technical support in the business. I can honestly say these goals have been accomplished – day in and day out. It never crossed my mind that I would enjoy what I am doing as much as I do or that I would be so deeply touched by what so many of my clients do. I truly feel blessed and exhilarated to be even a very small part of their missions.
Nonprofits are like businesses. Everyday the people who work for nonprofits have the opportunity to make a difference. The involvement of some individuals is face-to-face delivery of services; where mine is more vicarious. The past couple of years have had their challenges for everyone. And despite those challenges, I am encouraged and empowered by the strength and nobility of my nonprofit clients. Thank you for all you have given to me and to the communities you serve.
